Yesterday was the SMH Half Marathon, and I’m pleased to say that I did it – I completed the 21.1km course around Sydney in 1 hour 33 minutes and 15 seconds! I must admit to being incredibly sore today however 🙂
The race ended up being the largest Half Marathon ever held in Australia with 10,679 entrants and 8,731 finishers. The winning runner completed it in (an astounding!) 1 hour 4 minutes and 28 seconds.
I’m really happy with my time having never done a Half Marathon before and rather lazily doing very little training. I came in 834th, putting me in the top 10% of all runners 🙂
I wasn’t running alone though – I did it with a couple of friends from work and from Canberra. Here is our team – Team Awesomeness
Thanks so much to all of you that donated – your donations came to a total of $520 and are going to a great cause!! In total the race raised more than $600,000 for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
Hope you’re all well!
