Semester is flying by!

Hi everyone,

It has only been a few short weeks since we last posted, but so much has been going on that I thought I’d write a short post to keep you in the loop.

Firstly, classes are well and truly underway, and semester is flying by. It is divided in to 2 halves – Fall A and Fall B, and believe it or not I already have Fall A midterms next week! I’m finding the classes interesting though and have got involved in the High Tech Club, Digital Media & Entertainment Club and the Marketing Club … as well as a few social clubs like the soccer club, wine club and the beer club (which Jacs is a member of too πŸ™‚ ). On top of classes there have been speaker series and other events on campus so I’m keeping busy.

In other important news, we are all moved in to our apartment (Thanks so much for the amazing help from Alexandra and Bonnie – we couldn’t have done it without you, as well as Jacs’ hard work – I barely lifted a finger!) It is in a really great spot about a 15 minute bike ride from campus. We still need to do a little bit of furniture shopping (we have no chairs for example), and unpack a couple of boxes, but it is really coming together – we got internet and cable (although no TV yet …) yesterday which I’m happy about.

Monday was Labour Day here, so we had a long weekend and went away in a group of 16 Haasies and their partners to Lake Shasta, about 4 hours north-east, for 3 nights of houseboating – relaxing in the beautiful sunshine, swimming, and of course partying πŸ™‚ Jacs and I showed off our bbqing skills the first night cooking up a feast of burgers and sausages for the group! On Sunday we had a wakeboard boat for the day so Jacs and I got to do some wakeboarding which was awesome (she was the only girl that did it), as well as some serious tubing. We were all so sore on Monday morning!

The weekend before that we headed down to LA for Nadia and Jay’s Wedding in Malibu (which was beautiful – congrats guys!) and Jacs was a bridesmaid. Friday we then headed down to Coronado (by San Diego) for a weekend with the Fisher clan in the beautiful Southern Californian sunshine πŸ™‚

This weekend we’re looking forward to a quiet weekend around here, with some relaxing around the house, some furniture shopping, and perhaps a hike in the Berkeley Hills. Not a bad life πŸ™‚

xx
Ben and Jacs
